Last year we held the first Literature Undergraduate Colloquium at Concordia (L.U.C.C.) with great success. This year we have even more opportunities for students in our department — starting right now!

We are looking for 8 – 12 undergraduate students in the English Department to become part of the vetting committee for entries next semester. Professor Jessica Langston will overlook the process and teach you grading and editing criteria when marking the essays. This is great opportunity and will also lead to many of you chairing a panel on the day of the Colloquium, and all your names will be included in the annual LUCC publication.

The vetting process will happen during February 2013 but applications must be submitted by Monday, November 19th. A short interview with Professor Jessica Langston may follow depending on the number of applicants.

You must have completed your first year (30 credits) of a degree within the English department and have a GPA of 3.3 or higher within the courses you have taken in the English Department.

If you would like an application, please e-mail VP Academic Woody McCadden at and submit it to Jessica Langston’s mailbox by midnight on Monday, November 19th accompanied with a copy of your student record. Please note, no member of CASE will see your GPA or student record.

We hope many of you take advantage of this!
