Looking for a way to get involved with school that lets you have a say in your program and looks great on a cv? The English Department is calling for nominations for undergraduate student representatives to sit on Department Committees for the current school year, 2013-14. Students are encouraged to self-nominate for the following positions:
- Creative Writing Committee (1 position, must be a student accepted in the Creative Writing program). The Creative Writing Committee is responsible for all issues pertaining to Creative Writing (the program, admission guidelines, Writers Read at Concordia, Summer Literary Seminars, Matrix).
- Curriculum Committee (2 positions). The Curriculum Committee is responsible for developing new courses, refreshing older ones, fine-tuning Calendar descriptions of courses, and selecting Honours special topic courses.
- Speakers’ Committee (1 position). The Speakers’ Committee is responsible for selecting and inviting guest scholars to give academic talks. The Committee also coordinates and promotes the talks.
For more information or a nomination form, email Priya at firstname.lastname@example.org. Nominations should then be sent directly to Dr. Andre Furlani, Student Liaison Officer, in room LB653.2 or his mailbox, and received no later than 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2013.
If there are more candidates than positions, an election will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013, in Room LB-656. Only registered English students will be allowed to vote. The vote will be held between 10 and 11 a.m.
