CASE Concordia is looking for 8–12 undergraduate students in the English Department to be part of the vetting committee for the fifth annual Literature Undergraduates’ Colloquium at Concordia (LUCC). Members of the vetting committee will evaluate and select the highest calibre essays from the submissions we receive, and will then work closely with the author to edit the papers for both print and presentation. This is a great opportunity to hone your skills as an editor, earn valuable academic experience, and network with faculty and like-minded students. For those who are interested, the vetting committee offers the opportunity to chair a panel on the day of the Colloquium. Members’ names will also appear in the annual publication, LUCC Proceedings.
The vetting process will take place throughout February 2016, and will include a workshop on how to vet and edit by Dr. Cynthia Quarrie. The Colloquium itself will occur on April 1st, 2016.
In order to apply, you must have completed your first year (30 credits) of a degree in the English department and have a GPA of 3.3 or higher.
If you would like an application, please e-mail VP Academic Alex Custodio at email@example.com.
The completed form must be submitted to Dr. Quarrie’s mailbox by noon on Friday, November 27th, accompanied by a copy of your student record (My Student Centre > Self Service > Academic Records > View Unofficial Transcript). Please note that no member of CASE will see your GPA or student record.
We hope you take advantage of this excellent opportunity to get involved in the Colloquium and the English Department.
